California healthcare employers have a new minimum wage going into effect beginning June 1st, 2024.  Based on the type of healthcare provider/employer you are, the minimum wage, effective June 1st, will be between $18 and $23/hour.  If we increase wages for the impacted employees, to the new $18 -$23/hour minimum, we should also increase the employees that were already at these rates.  We do not believe it would be appropriate to leave them at their current rate when the new law is requiring we bring employees below those amounts,  up to their rate.  We are trying to determine how high up the line we should go with these increases. We are unsure of what an appropriate 'cut-off' would be.  Any input would be appreciated.

Unless you are forced by the employer, stay away from input. It is a lose-lose. If you give the same % raise to all, the employer is going to be grumpy. Less than that, employees will be grumpy.

It is a real mess in CA because of the new fast food min wage.
