Hi! For Illinois "All final compensation, including bonus payments, vacation pay, wages and commissions must be paid on the next regularly scheduled payday." (820 ILCS 115/). Therefore based on your example accrued vacation should be paid on the next payroll (5/15/24).

Hi,
In Illinois does the accrued vacation need to be paid out on the last paycheck or can it be on the following paycheck (after all hours have been paid)? For example, if payroll is on 5/15 with final hours, can you pay out vacation accrued separately on 5/31?
